Keynote Speaker: Coach Bob Pruett Coach is scheduled to speak on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Don't miss it. Former Marshall University Herd Football coach Bob Pruett, will be making a presentation at the Wayward Threads Expo at the Mountain Health Arena on Saturday May 18th at 10:00am. Coach Pruett led the Thundering Head from 1996 to 2005. During this time, Pruett compiled a 94-23 overall record, the most wins by any Marshall football coach. This included six conference titles, five bowl wins and the 1996 National Championship. |
Demonstrator: Doug Kreinik The Kreinik class will show a variety of crafts and fiber arts made with Kreinik materials, including weaving, spinning, sewing, needlework, knitting, crocheting, quilting, Kumihimo, Temari, and more. Instructor: Leigh McDonald leighmcdonald@zoominternet.net Date: May 17th 10 am – 12 pm Artist Trading Cards (ATC’s) Description: Artist Trading Cards or ATC’s are a fun way to dip your feet into mixed media. We will transform a sheet of paper using paint, a variety of gel pens and markers, rubber stamps and collage papers. The paper will then be cut down into trading card size and more details added before we exchange cards with other participants in the class. Fee: $40 which includes your entry into the Wayward Threads Expo and all supplies for the class. Maximum # of students is 20 and minimum is 7. Class will be cancelled if there are not 7 participants registered. Minimum age is 8 years with an accompanying adult. To preregister for the class, contact Leigh McDonald by email. Your name will be put on a list at the entry table at the Wayward Threads Show. Payment due the day of the class. The book has removable pages so that you can add or subtract pages as you desire. We will also make pages with pockets for storing special bits and pieces. We will do some collage on the covers during class, if time allows. A fun book to make and so easy! Leigh will provide lots of samples to get your imagination going! Some ideas include a travel book with pockets for tickets and souvenirs, a sewing themed book, a book of color swatches, etc. Fee: $40 which includes your entry into the Wayward Threads Expo and all supplies for the class.
